About Quy Ngoc Sam
I am a mixed-media artist and international designer based in Birmingham, England. I hold a Master’s degree from the Royal College of Art, where my practice developed at the intersection of art, design, and material inquiry. My work is research-led and process-driven, operating across disciplines to explore relationships between form, material, and meaning. Through mixed media, I engage states of transition—between function and expression, object and narrative, control and chance—allowing material processes to inform conceptual outcomes. Shaped by international experience and contemporary cultural contexts, my practice emphasises experimentation, material sensitivity, and subtle transformation. The work invites sustained engagement and reflection, proposing alternative ways of understanding objects, spaces, and their cultural resonance.
